Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a lovely gentle day; for a lighter writing day; for organizing a 50th anniversary Matric celebration for our English class next month; for a walk to Clifton and back, only achieving 200 Discovery points today; for popping into DisChem in Sea Point, buying cute pink masks which I had seen someone else wear; for a wonderful Girls dinner evening at Utopia with Joanne Clegg and Natalia Joynt Paizee, being there for four hours, we had such a good time and ate such wonderful food; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

A week ago, on the Cape Town Restaurants – the good, the bad and the nastyyyy … Facebook Group, Joanne and Natalie arranged to eat at Utopia this evening. They invited me to join them, I not having met Natalie before, and having met Joanne years ago, all Facebook friends. It was a date. Johanna looked after our table, and Natalie and Joanne ordered the Tasting Menus, while I started with oysters and then had a fabulous Kabeljou and scallop dish accompanied with jasmine rice and lemon butter sauce……… mmmmm 💙 Natalie had brought her husband and daughter too, but they sat at a separate table. It was a lovely evening, and beautiful to see our city transformed from sunset to darkness and street lighting. Thank you for the lovely evening Joanne and Natalie. 🌹🌹

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January, and extended but relaxed on 1 February, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
