Saturday 19 December 2020, Day 90 of Level 1, Day 269 of Lockdown 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a beautiful sunny 24C day, with the wind only picking up this afternoon, it and the Law Enforcement officers clearing beachgoers at the Tidal Pool out of the water, but there is always one rebel still in the water after 18h00; for Camps Bay being busier than yesterday, but not too badly, the litter being under control; for two tea spoils at The 41 Restaurant, with whom I partner for the monthly Community Beach cleans; for an interesting Skype meeting with eight Tourist Guides from Cape Town, Vienna, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Amsterdam, forming a committee providing input to our Tour Operator in Canada for the company’s growth, and hopefully ours too, being praised for being the most active tourist guides that they use, and who receive the best reviews ❤️; for a second Camps Bay clean up this afternoon, just as the picnickers went home; for the fire which flared up again in Bakoven this afternoon when the wind picked up being extinguished quickly; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
My Community Beach Clean was disappointing in its turnout, it only being my cleaning team, so they won the prize of two burgers for collecting the most litter, donated by The 41 Restaurant – boy they were beyond happy. 🙏💙🍔
The shopping at both Pick n Pay and Woolies today was friendly and efficient.
Yet another beautiful Hope @ Home concert, a Bandoneon player representing a whole orchestra 😱

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, and lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
