Everyone who is a Facebook Friend of mine will know that I have become a devoted fan of DJ René, and of dancing on Sunday afternoons at La Parada in Constantia Nek, since it opened at the end of September. Today DJ René, with Sobs and Luke, perform at La Parada Del Mar in Camps Bay, and it will become a Thursday evening regular date.
It is difficult to explain why I would drive to Constantia every Sunday, rarely having travelled to 
the other side of the mountain in the past, being a typical Capetonian. It was a surprise stop at Constantia Nek, to show a friend from London and her friends the amazing transformation of Cape Town’s oldest restaurant and housing a Harbour House and La Parada, that we experienced DJ René on a Sunday afternoon just after the reopening of the building. I knew most of the music, being a loyal Kfm listener, and the music was very danceable. One person in our group is an excellent dancer, so I was hooked! What is special is that I have met so many lovely dancers there, both male and female, some only once, and others being regulars like myself. The best of all has been the benefits of dancing non-stop for up to three hours, the best ‘gym’ in Cape Town! DJ René performs at Constantia Nek from 15h00 – 20h00 on Sundays.

From 18h00 this afternoon, a new era of dancing will be introduced in Camps Bay, with DJ René performing at the beautifully transformed former The Grand Camps Bay, and now La Parada Del Mar. The full La Parada menu will be available, and drinks can be ordered. There is no charge to dance.
DJ René ‘The Frenchman’ Tanguy came to settle in Cape Town from France, to enjoy music, surfing, and family, and has since become a household name. He connects with his audience, his passion for music being evident. His music gets a dance floor moving, with his latest pop music, Nu-disko, Latin/Cuban/Brazilian style house, as well as French house music. Unique is his mixing of DJing with live drumming and percussion, some of the dancers even getting a turn at the drumming. He performs at weddings, special birthday parties, and events, when he is not at La Parada Del Mar in Camps Bay on Thursdays, at HQ on Friday evenings, and at La Parada Constantia Nek on Sundays.
