The Second Annual Wine Label Design Awards, sponsored by self-adhesive label supplier Rotolabel and organized by Winemag.co.za, is calling for entries for the 2016 competition.
The competition invites designers of original and creatively crafted wine labels to enter, to reward ‘outstanding design as an influence on wine purchases’. The competition judging is in four price categories: R80 and less a bottle, more than R80 – R499 a bottle, R500 or more a bottle, and a wine series. The designs will be judged on originality, execution, shelf appeal, and effectiveness in communication. The wines entered must have stock availability of at least 100 six-bottle cases. A creative rationale of 150 words must accompany the entries.
The deadline to enter the Second Annual Wine Label Design Awards is 29 January. The designs will be judged, and finalist designs will be displayed on Winemag.co.za for voting by the public, to determine the ‘People’s Choice’ winner.
Last year Pieter Walser and his BLANKBottle won the competition.
The Award ceremony will be held on 25 February.
