Sweet Service Award goes to City of Cape Town; Sour Service Award goes to Department of Home Affairs!

The Sweet Service Award goes to the City of Cape Town’s Electricity Department, for the repair of a street light in a dangerous corner on Victoria Road in Bakoven, less than 48 hours after I reported it to Councillor Nicola Jowell.

The Sour Service Award goes to the Department of Home Affairs for its publishing of the latest Red List of countries whose citizens and residents may not enter our country for Leisure Travel. It is intended to be updated every 14 days, but the Department only posted a new list 19 days after the first List was published! The Department does not motivate why it excludes the countries on its Red List.

The WhaleTales Sweet & Sour Service Awards are presented every Friday on the WhaleTales blog. Nominations for the Sweet and Sour Service Awards can be sent to Chris von Ulmenstein at chrisvonulmenstein [at] gmail.com. Past winners of the Sweet and Sour Service Awards can be read on the Friday posts of this blog.
