Sweet Service Award goes to LAMTA and Camps Bay High; Sour Service Award goes to Camps Bay Apartments/EbbTide Apartment 202!

The Sweet Service Award goes to students of the LAMTA Musical Drama Academy at the Theatre on the Bay, and learners of Camps Bay High, for joining in my monthly Camps Bay Clean beach cleaning action last Saturday.  Sponsored by The 41 restaurant in Camps Bay, volunteers meet opposite the restaurant, receive a garbage bag, and are allocated designated cleaning areas. The Camps Bay Clean Community Beach Clean is held every last Saturday of the month, from 10h30 – 12h00.

The Sour Service Award goes to EbbTide Apartment 202 in Camps Bay, its owner Magali Seguillon, its letting agent Elize Sewell of Camps Bay Apartments, AirBnB, and client Alysia Brown and three fellow renters. On two consecutive nights last weekend the highly inebriated four women renters created the most intrusive noise by playing music loudly, shouting and screaming abuse to me, repeatedly tried to break down my front door, and threatened to kill me. I called the Camps Bay CSI Security service twice, and the SA Police twice too.  Every time one of these officers requested them to stop the noise, they would laugh out loud after the officers had left. They carried on with their noise until 3h00! I wrote to Paris-based owner Mrs Seguillon, and it took her two days to reply, eventually with a half-hearted apology. Camps Bay Apartments’ Elize Sewell, who had checked the clients in and should have communicated the Body Corporate rules about noise disturbance, put down her phone when I called her for assistance, leaving the phone off the hook. Mrs Seguillon’s renters regularly make a noise in our building, and when I request that the noise disturbance be stopped she sends a rude and disrespectful reply.  I am now taking the next step to prevent her from operating on AirBnB in the building.
