The Sweet Service Award goes to MiCaffè, and its Manager Melissa. I went into the restaurant to order an ice cream to kill time before a next appointment, and was served by a waitress who appeared to have no knowledge of the ice cream flavours available. She asked me whether I wanted it in a cup or cone. I said cone, and she brought it in a cup. Throughout my ordering, the waitress laughed at me. Melissa came to me when I sat down, and apologised. When I asked for the bill, she told me that I didn’t have to pay, and gifted me coffee pods on top of that!
The Sour Service Award goes to Discovery Insure, and its newish offices on the corner of Strand and Bree Streets. A week ago I went to the Sea Point Branch, lodging a complaint about my good driving and non-driving points not registering on my App since 1 May, and hence I am not receiving Discovery Gameboard plays. No action had been taken, and hence I went to the branch in the city centre on Wednesday. I arrived just before 17h00, and saw no enquiry desk and no staff. A staff member rushed out from a back area, and impatiently asked me what I needed. She had a backpack and was definitely on her way home. I asked to speak to somebody to assist me. I was told to take a seat in a lounge style seating set up in a massive space. Nothing happened for ten minutes. I had to find a Security person to assist me in finding someone. Andiswa walked out from the back at the slowest pace, and it was infuriating dealing with her, not reacting to me and not explaining anything to me. She called her head office, but I could not hear the discussion, and therefore to move away from me. I then had to speak to the Head Office person, unhelpful, only being able to tell me that it will be ‘referred to Systems again’. After ten days there has been no correction of the error! I am really annoyed with Discovery.
