The Sweet Service Award goes to Sorbet at the Point Mall in Sea Point belatedly. I was sent a text message, offering me a discount for their beauty salon services during my birthday month of December, which I accepted gratefully. I received efficient service from three staff members, and one of them even offered to return my Bootleggers coffee cup to the nearby coffee shop.
The Sour Service Award goes to Woolworths Piazza St John in Sea Point, and its manager Eugene Petersen, over the Festive Season. Only one cashier was serving the Express shopping queue, and I asked for the manager to be called. Just then a staff swop happened at the till, which slowed things down even more. Petersen was rude to me, saying that the slow service was due to so many staff not arriving at work on New Year’s Eve, and hence he could only put one staff member on the three Express tills! He seemed to be in a bad mood, and not interested in my complaint.
