Sweet Service Award goes to The Lawns; Sour Service Award goes to TELKOM!

The Sweet Service Award goes to The Lawns at The Roundhouse in Camps Bay, for its excellent service in looking after our table of about 15 on Wednesday, at a meeting and end-of-year- function for the Management Committee of the Camps Bay & Clifton Ratepayers Association on which I serve. We ordered our individual breakfasts, and when I told the waiter that I had to leave half an hour later, he offered to separate my order from that of the group, so that it could be speeded up in the kitchen.  He was true to his word, I not having to wait very long, and neither did the rest of our group, their breakfasts arriving just as I had finished mine.  I love Dilmah tea, and always regard it as a sign of the quality of the establishment, so I was impressed to see that this is their tea brand.

The Sour Service Award goes to Telkom, for its continuing harassment regarding alleged outstanding charges, in the form of daily phone calls and regular sms messages. I gave the required notice to cancel my phone and fax lines at the Telkom office in Sea Point two months prior to moving to Camps Bay from Fresnaye two and a half years ago, and my accounts were paid until the last month of usage. After more than  a year’s silence from Telkom, the harassment commenced during Lockdown, about three months ago, and is persistent, the calls coming in more than once a day on some days. Fortunately I have a Truecaller App identifying the number, so do not take the calls.
