The Sweet Service Award goes to the Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa, and its concierge Masood Sadulla, for assisting our Whale Cottage Camps Bay guests Shadé Potgieter and Nick Brenner in getting from our guest house to the hotel to attend a wedding last weekend. They had not rented a car and had thought that they could get there on foot. There was no charge levied for the shuttle service, and the offer was made to call a taxi for the guests when they wanted to return to Camps Bay.
The Sour Service Award goes to the MyCiti Bus. When our guests Shadé and Nick arrived at Cape Town International (with a flight delayed by 2½ hours) last Friday evening, they bought two MyCiTi Bus cards at the airport station. They were told that they would be able to take the 21h00 bus from the Civic Centre to Camps Bay, but when they arrived at the bus station just before 21h00, they were told that the bus to Camps Bay had already departed. There was no one to help them, and they had to call a cab to get them to our guest house. They had not eaten since leaving Johannesburg, and were recommended Burger King and the Artscape restaurant, both close to the Civic Centre, but both were closed already! By the time they had arrived in Camp Bay at 22h00, they knew they would not find anything to eat in Camps Bay. All in all it was a dreadful start to their weekend in Cape Town, possibly made worse by the howling Southeaster blowing that evening!
