The Wade Bales Cap Classique & Gin Affair 2017 will be held at Grand Africa Café & Beach on Friday and Saturday late afternoon, offering more than fifty fine sparkling wines, as well as top local Gin brands to taste.

Some of the fifty top sparkling wines which will be available to taste at the Wade Bales Cap Classique & Gin Affair include Graham Beck, Steenberg, Simonsig, Villiera, Krone, Constantia Uitsig, and Silverthorn.

Top local gins will be available to taste too, with producers present to share their insights and secret botanicals they have used to make their craft gins.

The entrance fee of R290 includes a bubbly tasting glass as well as six oysters.  Pizza and sushi will be for sale at the restaurant. Tickets can be bought at Quicket. The tasting times are as follows:

Friday: 6 October 16h00 – 20h00

Saturday: 7 October 15h00 – 19h00

Wade Bales, owner of Wade Bales Wine Society, and creator of the event, acts as a ‘private banker of the wine industry, selecting wines that match his clients’ personal taste profile and the occasion at which the wines are to be served. He selects ‘exciting wines made by colourful characters with interesting stories‘, his website explains.

Bales said about the Affair: ‘We want to showcase the best South Africa has to offer and recognise the world-class quality produced in our country. This is the right time, the right place and the right people – and is going to be a celebration you don’t want to miss!’
