Monday 19 July 2021, Day 22 of Level 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a sunny start and ending in a rainy afternoon; for a peaceful sleep in total silence 🙏; for an up and down morning, doing a Bakoven walk before the rain arrived; for a demo by Nick Taylor of Nox Rentals of the Swedish Minut Noise monitor, installed for me to measure the noise level from the other apartments in the building, also measuring the number of persons in an apartment; for a Camps Bay walk, just missing the next rain; for taking action against what is happening illegally in the apartment building; and for being healthy and free. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Restaurant Review: Café Charles in De Waterkant disappoints with Lamb Curry Collection!

I am not a big fan of Take-Away food, it usually arriving cold, the delivery costs being exorbitant if one uses Uber Eats, and the presentation of the dish and atmosphere of the restaurant cannot be replicated in a Take-Away.

I wanted to spoil my friend Gary on a day forecast to be cold and rainy, a perfect day for Lamb Curry, which I saw advertised by Café Charles as a Take-Away Delivery or Collection during Level 4 Lockdown, before Sit-Down was allowed. Sunday 11 July 2021, day 14 of Level 4 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a beautiful sunny day, at 16C, ahead of a severe weather system arriving tomorrow 😱; for a good night’s sleep; for getting some work done; for pre-writing my Blogpost about President Cyril’s Speech 🤓; for a walk through Camps Bay and grateful to the City of Cape Town staff for having mowed all our Camps Bay lawns along the ocean yesterday; for another walk this afternoon, picking up something at Pick n Pay; for an entertaining chat with journalist Lin Sampson at the Tidal Pool, who has swum in it for 40 years, we sharing some life experiences; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 11 of Level 4, 8 July 2021.

Thursday 8 July 2021, Day 11 of Level 4. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a day of lots of wind and rain, and few photographs and steps 😱; for preparing for two Status meetings this morning, not getting a midday walk as it started raining at that time, and it never stopped, pouring when I had to enter Anatoli Turkish Restaurant, waiting in the car; for a spoil Status meeting, with a huge pot of Dilmah Earl Grey tea and biscuits; for collecting my rolls at Dinkel Bakery, and a Lamb Curry Dinner treat at Café Charles to share for dinner with Gary Peterson; for a delightful Cointreau tea with dinner and an apple blueberry tart with Woolies custard mmmmm…..
