Two months after launching Tintswalo Kitchen at Tintswalo in Hout Bay, it has closed down, making space for the new opening on 2 November of Chefs Warehouse at Tintswalo Atlantic, the fourth Chefs Warehouse to be opened by Chef Liam Tomlin in Cape Town and Winelands. It will be offering Tapas for 2 for four courses at R1500 for two persons, an increase in the cost of eating at Tintswalo Atlantic in terms of a higher price and one less course, from just two months ago. Slowly the Lockdown has become the new norm, and there is little reason for Restaurants to not be open and trading, despite the lack of tourists from overseas. The opening of the country’s International borders, albeit only as of 1 October, appears to have had little impact on the Restaurant industry to date.
On my latest Restaurant Closure list I have 73 Restaurants in Cape Town and the Winelands which have closed down, an increase of only 3 Restaurant Closures in the past month. Clarke’s and Dahlia on Regent announced their permanent closure, but have reopened. Continue reading →
