May Restaurant Update: More restaurants opening and closing in Cape Town and Winelands!

 

 

New restaurants are still opening, or planning to open in Cape Town and the Winelands, despite it being on the eve of Winter.

The biggest planned opening is that by Chef Liam Tomlin, who will open The Bailey, a three storey Brasserie, Bakery, and two Bars across the road from Heritage Square.  His opening is running late. He has closed down his Chefs Warehouse on Bree Street. Restaurant Artizian will open on Bree Street in July. Chef Peter Tempelhoff is said to open a Japanese Street Food restaurant on the ground floor of Speakers Corner, the building in which FYN operates. Camps Bay Restaurants operating over the Festive Season, many are open right through!

 

With beaches now allowed to be open until 19h00,  Camps Bay Restaurants are likely to be busy for the next two weeks.

Not all restaurants will be open on Christmas Day or on 1 January, so I have compiled a list of the Camps Bay restaurants, with their trading days.

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 92 of Level 1, 21 December 2020.

 

Monday 21 December 2020, Day 92 of Level 1, Day 271 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏 

#Grateful for a sunny day, feeling cooler than 26C due to it being windy from this morning onwards; for getting my writing done in a shorter time than normal; for spreading the dishwashing of yesterday throughout the day; for collecting sandwiches and coldrinks from The Bay Hotel for the Christmas function which was held for the Camps Bay Community Stewards (car guards and my cleaners), borrowing a Pick n Pay trolley to transport them to the SAPS parking area; for trying out the new Crème de la Crème Gourmet Dessert outlet in Camps Bay, which has just opened; for collecting a plaque from Pagliari engravers in town for my client, produced efficiently and just in time before their Festive Season closing tomorrow, and dropping it off; for a spontaneous drop-in at Dinkel Bakery, which still had some poppyseed rolls for me; for both lanes of Geneva Drive having reopened  in Camps Bay; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
