Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 5 of Adjusted Level 3 Lockdown, 2 January 2021

Saturday 2 January 2021, Day 5 of Adjusted Level 3, Day 283 of Lockdown. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a 7 hour solid sleep, much better than my usual 5 hours; a beautiful 27C sunny day, the wind coming up now; so grateful for how clean Camps Bay looks; for being happy that Imtiaz and Carmen are both back at work today, starting their day with tea at my home, their work now deep-cleaning; for an energetic walk through Bakoven and up the lanes in lower Bakoven, I continuing on a Litter Mission of another kind, earning me 500 Discovery points, a number which seems incorrect, as 300 is usually the max 😱; for a later walk to the Camps Bay Tidal Pool, only one couple picnicking on the lawn, so happy to see ‘my’ stream so clean; for Kfm broadcasting road closures news which I sent to the DJ when traffic was closed between Camps Bay and Hout Bay due to another Bakoven fire, with a huge thanks to the fire services for getting it under control; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a relaxed me-day; for a sunny day but very windy; for a walk through Camps Bay, there being no litter 🙏, and barely any cars parked near the Tidal Pool, but more at the Beachfront, restaurants looking quite empty at lunchtime; for a movie catch-up this afternoon, with Minsky sleeping on the bed with me; for my monthly blood sugar level testing perfectly, at 5,6; for a walk through Bakoven; for Kfm’s lovely music all day, I just wanting to dance 💃; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Friday 18 December 2020, Day 89 of Level 1, Day 268 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a beautiful 26C day; for the fire being brought under control in the early hours of this morning; for the forecast South Easter not having arrived (yet); for a busy working morning; for some excellent news, but not shareable ❤️❤️❤️; for a good beach walk with my Team of Cleaners, the beach not being very busy and there being little litter, my team members still on a high from their praise on Wednesday; for managing to organise refreshment and food donations from Pick n Pay and the Bay Hotel, respectively, in Camps Bay for a Christmas spoil of the 38 Community Stewards (car guards and my cleaners) planned for Monday, made so easy by both saying yes, I not being a good ‘beggar’; for a good walk through Bakoven; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Thursday 17 December 2020, Day 88 of Level 1, Day 267 of Lockdown. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a cooler day today, and the wind blowing most of the day, very strong now; for the Fire Services in fighting the fire which broke out in Upper Bakoven earlier this afternoon; for a good walk this morning through Bakoven with my cleaners Imtiaz and John, they still on a high after the accolades they received yesterday; for a busy working morning, stressing me somewhat, but the one hour Bakoven walk destressed me completely; for meeting my lovely American apartment neighbour Kay for the first time today, and happy to hear that she is staying for another two months, making no noise at all; for a good Status meeting with my client; for collecting some ordered foods at Hartlief in the Garden’s Centre; for being able to get back home despite Victoria Road having been closed because of the fire, no vehicles being able to travel in the direction of Llandudno; for a looong chat with my Alex ❤️; and for being happy and healthy. 💙🙏 Continue reading →
