Tuesday 8 December 2020, Day 79 of Level 1, Day 258 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a rainy start and end to the day, it clearing during the day, a pleasant 21C; for my housekeeper Portia coming to do a thorough Christmas clean of my home with me, long not done 😱, and always loving getting into a freshly-made bed; for Minsky and I grateful for Portia’s company, as Henry was off ill today, Minsky sticking closer to home today and not making any sounds and seeming to need a sleep catch-up after her exciting day yesterday; for receiving the Festive Season operating hours for Pick n Pay and Woolworths in Camps Bay; for a relaxed walk in Camps Bay, the Beachfront area being very quiet; for dancing to Dansdag on Kfm; for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Thursday 15 October 2020, Day 25 of Level 1, Day 203 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another sunny day, at 22C; for another social and eating-out day; for a peaceful day and one of spoiling; for a short surprise visit for tea by Vivian Warby; for discovering Bo-Kaap Deli, now less than half the size of the former Batavia Café, meeting the owner Munier, and being impressed with the canopies erected over the pavements, given the reduced seating space inside; for a lovely catch up lunch with Michael MacKenzie at Oxalis Eatery in Wale Street; for chatting to Rafael and Marta, owners of OpenWine, which they have reopened on Wale Street, and meeting the most stunning Brazilian-South African Miguel there, singing my Blog praises – see the video 😱💙; for a walk through Camps Bay, happy to see that the City of Cape Town has erected safety barriers where the fence came down in the wind storm on Victoria Road, even if it took them two weeks to erect them; for a chat with Law Enforcement Officer Ivor Ramsay, always welcoming me into his office; for being happy for a big operation of removing Homeless structures around Maiden’s Cove and below Camps Bay High today; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

#Grateful for a very sociable day, with good food; for a lovely sunny day, following a rainy night; for having time to do a quick Camps Bay morning walk; for an easy drive to Diep River, to the home of Michelle Fioroni for lunch, with Brian Van Hansen (an amazing photographer) and Florence Poretti (aquarobics instructor and hike leader) to thank us for our Facebook posts during Lockdown, such a lovely gesture ❤️; for a quick visit to Fat Harry’s in Kenilworth, which Stuart Bailey has taken over and is opening shortly after an extensive renovation; for another walk in Camps Bay and a chat to Law Enforcement Officer Ivor Ramsay; for a lovely catch-up dinner with Katie Friedman, visiting from Durban, at Utopia; for receiving a Discovery Car Insurance premium Cash Back; for a call from Carte Blanche about a possible interview about one of my Blogpost legal victories; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Monday 12 October 2020, Day 22 of Level 1, Day 200 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for surviving 200 days of Lockdown, the ‘new normal’ of our life; for a beautiful sunny 22C day; for a hardworking writing morning; for harvesting my first cauliflower, and more parsley and nasturtiums, from my Vegetable garden; for a peaceful walk through Camps Bay, noticing only three new car guards today (they take Mondays off, but they forgot to tell us locals, and so all the illegal car guards are back); for posting my SwitchBitch Book 1 to Marianne Busche in Johannesburg via the Aramex courier service at Pick n Pay 🙏; for a second walk through Bakoven; for a chat with Officer Ivor Ramsay at Law Enforcement about persons selling insurance policies on the pavement at the Promenade, which is not allowed; for such a calm ocean; for dancing to Kfm 💃; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →
