Two months after launching Tintswalo Kitchen at Tintswalo in Hout Bay, it has closed down, making space for the new opening on 2 November of Chefs Warehouse at Tintswalo Atlantic, the fourth Chefs Warehouse to be opened by Chef Liam Tomlin in Cape Town and Winelands. It will be offering Tapas for 2 for four courses at R1500 for two persons, an increase in the cost of eating at Tintswalo Atlantic in terms of a higher price and one less course, from just two months ago. I was one of a number of writers invited to attend a media event at Tintswalo Atlantic, at the water’s edge below Chapman’s Peak Drive, to allow us to experience Sundowners and Canapés on its deck, facing the majestic Sentinel in Hout Bay.
Three weeks ago I and a group of writers was invited to enjoy breakfast at the new Tintswalo at Boulders, perched above Boulders Beach in Simonstown, renowned home to the African penguins. Shortly after our visit, we were invited by Five Star PR to spend a night at the luxury boutique accommodation lodge, directly overlooking Boulders Beach. I chose to stay on Saturday evening 8 December, having to be at Stargarden in Fish Hoek for a reading from my second book ‘SwitchBitch: My Journey of Transformation in walking the Camino, Sole to Soul’ the following day.
