Corona Gratitude šŸ™

#grateful for the fire having burnt itself out, and for the hard work done by firefighters as well as persons who have helped accommodate UCT students, and who collected and donated supplies for the firefighters, pets, and studentsā¤ļø; for a fabulous continuous 7 hour sleep; for a fire starting at a homeless structure at Maidens Cove this morning being extinguished very quickly ā¤ļø ; for getting my writing work done smoothly; for a shopping walk to Pick n Pay and Woolies; for a much cooler day at 21C, and very windy, not good for the firefighting; for a second power walk, having to fit it in before a meeting, choosing two sets of steps, each with 100 steps, one uphill and another downhill, protected against the wind on the paths, but almost blown over on Camps Bay Drive, connecting the two paths, gaining 300 Discovery points; for a productive Camps Bay Ratepayers Association Committee Zoom meeting; for the good service from Charlene Shapiro of CNC Products, dropping off an ordered bulk pack of mini Smarties šŸ’™ā¤ļø, and for being happy, healthy, and free. šŸ™šŸ’™ Continue reading →

The fire continued burning on Devilā€™s Peak last night, and now has spread to Vredehoek, with certain parts of the suburb being evacuated this morning. Unfortunately it is being fanned by a gale force South Easter. Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude šŸ™

#Grateful for an energetic day in walking with Imtiaz up to The Roundhouse, the oldest building in Camps Bay, to clean up litter near the Camps Bay High School, loving its views from there, and a good heart exertion, earning 300 Discovery points; for a fabulous 8 hours of sleep; for finishing my writing in time for the walk; for a treat fruit salad and basil sorbet at The 41 for that exertion; for writing a second story this afternoon when the Jacques Pauw story broke about his 360 degree turnaround; for a relaxed afternoon; and for being happy and healthy. šŸ™šŸ’™ Continue reading →

Tintswalo Atlantic fired up to open its doors on 1 October, after devastating fire earlier this year!

On Tuesday evening I was fortunate to enjoy a stay-over at the beautifully located five-star Tintswalo Atlantic on the Atlantic Ocean, at the foot of Chapman’s Peak in Cape Town. The invitation was to try out the newly rebuilt hotel, of which the public rooms were destroyed by a devastating fire in February this year, with accommodation suites renovated, and to provide feedback and suggestions ahead of the reopening of Tintswalo Atlantic on 1 October. A number of media representatives, travel trade representatives, as well as past guests have been invited to experience the Hotel during September.  Continue reading →
