The Sweet Service Award goes to Pick n Pay Camps Bay, and its Manager Odwa Mtonintshi for assisting me with a quick purchase of  the Daily Maverick 168 newspaper on Sunday, just requiring my Smart Card t9 be swiped to receive it for free. The store was so busy that it was running a controlled access, with a queue outside the store. When I was able to get inside, he pulled me to one side, got a cashier to swipe my Smartcard, and I was out of there without having to queue. I regularly retrieve Pick n Pay trollies in Camps Bay, and return then to the store, so we have a quid pro quo arrangement in helping each other. Continue reading →
