Cape Town ranks third on The Telegraph Greatest Cities on Earth list!

 

In March The Telegraph announced that Cape Town is the greatest city in the world to visit right now. Last week it ranked Cape Town as the third greatest city on Earth, scoring 549 out of 810 points.

Utilising a list of 50 Top city contenders, its annual reader survey, and input from its Travel writers, it ranked the list of cities on a number of factors, including the number of museums, galleries, UNESCO heritage sites, Michelin restaurants,  5-star hotels, beaches, air cleanliness,  transport, tourist attractions, legalized same-gender marriage, and LGBTQ+ community safety. Additional points went to cities with a symphony orchestra, and a metro system.

Domestic Air travel health regulations relaxed as of today, 25 November 2020.

 

BusinessTech has reported that Domestic travellers will no longer have to undergo a health check, complete a health questionnaire, nor present a travel permit as of today.

The Domestic ACSA airports will still be measuring temperatures of passengers when entering the airport buildings, and will require masks to be worn. Only passengers with valid travel documents will be allowed into the airport buildings.  Continue reading →

*   The Bartho Eksteen Sauvignon Blanc Celebration held in Hermanus recently selected ‘the 10 best of the best’ Sauvignon Blancs locally over the past 22 years, and then compared them to 10 top Sauvignon Blancs from other countries.  The winning Sauvignon Blanc was judged to be Fryer’s Cove Bamboes Bay, 2013, followed by Diemersdal MM Louw 2013, Palliser Estate 2012 from New Zealand, Dog Point 2008 from New Zealand, and Von Winning 1 2011 from Germany. *   Uber supports the Department of Transport’s Festive Season Road Safety campaign, it says in a media statement.  The campaign makes road safety everyone’s responsibility, to enhance law enforcement, and to increase road traffic safety awareness.
