Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful day, at 21 C, with morning mist, the clouds clearing, and rain clouds on their way; for the most beautiful sunsets tonight; for being in touch with friends from around the world; for being motivated and inspired by the TED Talk of ‘Eat Pray Love’ author Elizabeth Gilbert; for the further excellent service of Woolworths Camps Bay, getting an item for me in less than 24 hours; for hearing the praise by Bill Gates of our President Cyril’s handling of the pandemic in our country and the rest of Africa too, on the Trevor Noah show today; for Kfm’s fabulous music to dance and walk to; for feeling excited to be observing this World Event from the comfort of my home; and for being fit, heathy, and happy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Returning home to Cape Town after three months on the (European and South American) road as a Solo traveler !

My post below comes from Facebook, a post I wrote in the last few days of my journey through eight countries, walking and dancing 1,2 million steps and just under 1000 km in three months. It was a tongue in cheek story about my journey, motivated in writing my third SwitchBitch Book, but also to share with my Blog readers the World’s 50 Best Restaurants I ate at in Lima, Buenos Aires, Santiago in Chile, Rio de Janeiro, and a Michelin star restaurant in Lisbon, with other great and not so great restaurants, and the interesting Mendoza wine region in Argentina, synonymous with Malbec and the largest in the country. *  Few companies have made changes to their travel policy in the light of the terror attack threat warning issued by the USA for August.  Travel to countries in which  embassies have closed temporarily has been put on hold however.

*  Nobu at the One&Only Cape Town has launched a new ‘Nobu Lite Lounge’  menu of light tapas-style tasters, available daily from 18h00 – 20h00. The menu features culinary offerings for the lighter-diner, three Lite offerings, served family style forNobu Lite Lounge Y66A8079_082923 four people to share, including  a meat lite option with Beef Kushiyaki, Chicken Anticucho, Pork Belly, and Beef New Style. The Pescetarian Lite option features Salmon & Tuna Tacos, Hot Miso Chips, Tuna Tataki with Ponzu, Tuna Tempura Roll, and Salmon Anticucho Skewers. The Vegetarian option includes Broccoli Chili Salsa and Shojin Tempura. Guests can create their own platters or to select dishes individually. Six-piece sushi rolls as well as a selection of other innovations reflecting Nobu’s unique Japanese and Peruvian mix are also available. (via Manley Communications)
