La Colombe named Best Restaurant, Utopia Best Rooftop Restaurant in Africa in World Culinary Awards!

 

The Cape and therefore South Africa has garnered most top Restaurant awards in Africa at the World Culinary Awards 2022. The winners were announced in Dubai last night.

La Colombe in Constantia was named Africa’s Best Restaurant 2022, while Utopia Cape Town received the honour of being named Africa’s Best Rooftop Restaurant 2022. It is the second year running for both restaurants to win their respective categories. Continue reading →

Utopia Cape Town, Life Grand Café, Wolfgat, Clara’s Barn, ëlgr, Pier, Restaurant KLEIN JAN, and Post & Pepper Restaurant are eight restaurants that have been nominated in various 2022 Best Restaurant categories in Africa, presented by the World Culinary Awards.

Ryanair discrimates against SA passport holders with Afrikaans Test!

 

If it were the 1st of April one may have thought that it was an April Fool’s joke when it was reported that Ryanair is only allowing South Africans holding a South African passport to fly on their airline if the passengers achieve a 100% correct pass rate on 15 questions set in Afrikaans, and to be answered in Afrikaans!

Ryanair has confirmed that the test is not a hoax, the airline experiencing a high percentage of fake South African passports used by its passengers.
