#grateful for a wonderful day after a night of zero noise disturbance đ; doing some work and then heading out to collect Emma in Pinelands, to start our Southern Suburbs Roadtrip, including tea with Stuart Bailey at The Andros Boutique Hotel, the Black Forest German Butcher, Lime Tree CafĂ©, and Collaborate in Fish Hoek, to meet Carina du Randt for tea and the most entertaining reunion, meeting her friend George; for a walk through Kalk Bay, and ending off with a delicious ice cream at Bootlegger in Muizenberg đŠ; for the sun coming out from behind the clouds, giving us a 15C day; Continue reading →
Yesterday Fat Harryâs reopened in Kenilworth as a transformed Restaurant with a Bar, with new owners, a new chef, a new menu, and a complete makeover. Co-owner and restaurateur Stuart Bailey, who has many years experience of opening and running Restaurants, including Hussar Grill, Slug & Lettuce, the Harbour House Group, and Cowboys & Cooks restaurants, has created a new quality neighbourhood eatery in the Southern Suburbs, with a brand new bar.
Three weeks ago two friends living in the Southern Suburbs and I met for lunch at Quince Restaurant in Diep River, having seen its lovely photographs posted in my Lockdown Restaurant Facebook Group. Needing a change of scenery from the Atlantic Seaboard, I chose to drive to the Southern Suburbs, popping in at a number of places, and had lunch at Quince Restaurant, arriving with high expectations. Sadly these were not met.
