Restaurant Week puts top SA restaurants on a plate during October, including Anatoli Mediterranean Restaurant!

 

During October Restaurant lovers will be able to feast at their favourite restaurants, and discover new restaurants, when more than 100 restaurants around the country offer Lunch and/or Dinner at good value prices, starting off at R245.

This good-value restaurant promotion month is a win-win for diners as well as for restaurants, which have been extremely hard hit since the Corona Lockdown began 18 months ago.

Restaurant Week bookings cannot be made with restaurants directly. To book a table one must do so via www.restaurantweek.co.za.

Meet Chef Charné Sampson of Epice: 2021 Top 10 Woman Chef!

 

Chef Charné Sampson is one of the youngest 2021 Top 10 Women Chefs, and heads up the kitchen at Epice at Le Quartier Francais in Franschhoek. She wins a bottle of Adhara Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I was unable to meet her as she was ill on Sunday, when I delivered her prize.

Chef Charné graduated from Silwood in 2016. She did her internship at Myoga, Woolworths, Waterkloof, The Test Kitchen, and at La Colombe. She stayed on at La Colombe, until 2019, when she was given the opportunity to head up Epice. 

Epice is one of a number of restaurants in the La Colombo restaurant group. Chef Charné took the restaurant to Best New Restaurant in Africa in the inaugural World Culinary Awards.  Epice is a fine dining restaurant, its dishes flavour-filled with spices.

Anatoli Cookbook dishes up Turkish cuisine recipes and history of Anatoli Mediterranean Restaurant!

 

Former Anatoli owner Tayfun Aras published his ‘Anatoli Authentic Turkish Cuisine’ Cookbook in 2018, containing a collection of recipes of dishes served at Anatoli, many still on the menu, and his kitchen secrets. His culinary journey From Turkey to Cape Town is penned as well. Anatoli is one of Cape Town’s longest-established  restaurants, still trading on Napier Street, where it opened its doors in 1984. Anatoli Mediterranean Restaurant offers generous special 3-course Menu at R 295 for Restaurant Week: 1 April – 2 May!

 

Anatoli Mediterranean Restaurant has announced its special 3-course Menu for Restaurant Week, which starts cooking from today, and stretches over a month, ending on 2 May.

Anatoli is in good company, with over a hundred restaurants participating in this food festival, aimed at stimulating the beleaguered restaurant trade, and in offering diners and food lovers excellent and generous Lunch and Dinner offers. Continue reading →
