Tuesday 25 May 2021, Day 86 of Level 1 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Gratitude for a day which started out with mist after the rain last night, and cleared this afternoon to lovely sunshine; for a busy working day; for a walk to Woolworths, getting some steps, bumping into Thomas and Haakon, the German swallows whom I haven’t seen in ages, catching up on our restaurant adventures; for a lovely dinner with Greg Loyd, whom I had not yet met, the co-owner of Villa Rosa Guest House in Sea Point, dining at Utopia, arriving as the moon moved over the city centre, a day before Full Moon; and for being happy, healthy, and free.

My Blogpost today is about a special loan being made available to restaurants by the Rupert Family and Remgro.

Villa Rosa and Utopia are running a joint Dinner, Bed and Breakfast promotion. I had met co-owner Steven Dawson, and we got the promotion off the ground. Steven is on his way to the UK, so I am dealing with Greg now, but he hadn’t been to Utopia before. So I happily obliged to be his date tonight, he having the main Tasting Menu and I the Vegetarian one, never having eaten it completely, bursting at the seams after the five courses, and delicious. Greg and I shared many a guest house story. A really lovely evening. 💙

I had the most unbelievable experience today, reading my Tarot card the King of Pentacles, with all sorts of references to a king and abundance, when I received a call from a business with ‘king’ in its name, asking if I can fit them in to my schedule of clients. A wow goosebump experience. 😱

Facebook and Instagram have been playing up in allowing one to post multiple photographs. 😱

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
