Tuesday 29 December 2020, Day 1 of Level 3 adjusted, Day 279 of Lockdown. 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a solid 6 hours of sleep; for a relaxed day, my day starting off differently to normal, not having to do a Blogpost in the morning (or so I thought); for the Camps Bay cleaning support I received from Lewis, one of the Camps Bay CSI Community Steward car guards, picking up the litter with me that I didn’t have the energy for yesterday, my Cleaning team having the day off today; for spoiling myself with a breakfast at The 41, looking forward to it so much that I forgot to photograph it 😱; for Emma’s company at breakfast, and for her gift of comping it 🙏; for the amazing 95% mask wearing in Camps Bay today – – wow; for it being quiet in Camps Bay, especially this morning, and hence little litter when I did an afternoon walk to bring Emma some of the left-over Christmas fruit cake; for a busy writing afternoon after my client had a management meeting and decided on the way forward; and for being happy and healthy.

Today it is 4 weeks since KitKat was taken away from us 😻😿 I saw a most beautiful heart cloud on my walk, which is for KitKat. ❤️

I received revised operating hours for our Pick n Pay and Woolworths as a result of yesterday’s new regulations, and sent these out on Camps Bay Facebook Pages.

The Tidal Pool looked eery, being so empty, but beautiful.

I spoke to a few people about not wearing masks: one local man had it under his nose, and shouted at me to not stick my nose into his business. 😡 A UK tourist said he didn’t have a mask, so I told him where to get one at the pharmacy. 😱 A very German-sounding man told me to stay home if I don’t like him not wearing a mask! 🥵🥵🥵. And I reported a non-local couple swimming at Bali Bay Beach, they explaining to me that they didn’t hear the news! 🤬

Utopia has decided to open from 12h00 – 20h00 every day of the week, offering their Tasting Menus as well as their À la Carte menu, even on New Year’s Eve. They used to only open for Lunch on weekends. Yesterday I had posted ads for their special New Year’s Eve dinner, which now has to be shelved 😱

Utopia Cape Town opens for Lunch and early Dinner from tomorrow 30 December until 15 January!

The eNCA TV channel had a cameraman looking for beach rebels to film. They were out of luck.

Loadshedding is with us again, at the weird time of 22h00 – 5h00! 🥵 It is not clear yet how our Zone 7 Atlantic Seaboard/City area will be affected! First they lock us up at 21h00, and then they force us to go to bed early 😅😂

SA Corona Status 1021451 cases 27568 deaths 😷😢

FitBit 10000 steps 7 km 👣

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, and lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
