Wednesday 30 December 2020, Day 2 of Level 3 adjusted, Day 280 of Lockdown 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#grateful for a fabulous day, with so many blessings, and flowing efficiently; for a relaxed start to the day, without any pressure to write a Blogpost today, being ahead of myself in writing; for a surprise call from another restaurant asking if I would like to do their marketing too …. you bet 💙 ; for a request to buy all three my SwitchBitch books 🙏; for a walk through Camps Bay with minimal litter to pick up, and very good mask wearing compliance; for a quick walking shoe purchase, my poor Reeboks bought in Havana last year having seen better days; for collecting my laundry; for putting in petrol ahead of a petrol price increase next week; for a head massage, hair trim, and blow spoil at the new salon Hair by Isabella in Sea Point; for popping in at Utopia to meet a VIP client, and then having two sets of friends dining there too, so I stayed and ate there too; for lovely weather today, starting with rain, but clearing this morning; for two Discovery Gameboard plays; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
Gary Peterson, I heard your words of our tea treat on Monday, about the ebb and flow of money. You were spot on. What an exciting call today. I’m learning to ask the Universe for what I want, not having been brave enough to do so in the past. 🙏
Isabella Page Morgan has been cutting and colouring my hair since my first transformation dates almost five years ago. She comes from Durban but has lived in Cape Town for 27 years, and has always operated in Sea Point, on her own, then sharing with other hairdressers, and now on her own again. She has created a lovely salon in which only she operates one-on-one with her clients, a spacious area with a good airflow, good views of Lions Head and the ocean, with a seating area to enjoy a coffee, with nice music, and she knows exactly how I want my hair cut and coloured. She invited me to come in for this fabulous spoil, a lovely way to end this year. 💙💙💙
This morning I received a direct message from Morning Show DJ Mr Meyer of Bush Radio, with 137000 Instagram followers, whom I had invited to dine at Utopia a few weeks ago. He requested a table for this afternoon, so it was very exciting to meet him and his wife. They enjoyed their Tasting Menu, and he posted some Instagram pics and stories. The first pic has more than 1800 likes already, unbelievable 🙏💙
Soren Pontoppidan is Danish, a friend I met at La Parada Constantia Nek, but only started socializing with in earlier levels of Lockdown this year. He spontaneously decided to have the Tasting Menu at Utopia, and we had an entertaining time together. He is very naughty, and I can only handle him in small doses. 😱 I ate two dishes from the À la Carte menu, the Caprese Salad being exceptional.
Lisa Hayden from Bakoven and her friend Anjé also ate at Utopia this evening, trying the Standard and the Vegetarian Tasting Menus.
I ❤️ my Minsky lying next to me and sleeping while I’m writing. 😻
I adore the quietness of the zero traffic during Curfew from 21h00 until 6h00. And it being so quiet in our apartment block too. ❤️❤️❤️

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, and lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
