Corona Lockdown Gratitude š
#grateful for the lessons learnt in a fabulous morning and a terrible afternoon, ending off on a good note; for a fabulous weather day, at 31C or more, perfect, with no wind; for an early departure from home, to take my car for a service to Audi in the Waterfront with barely any traffic on the way, with a very efficient car check-in; for a wonderful breakfast and temporary office table at The Granary at The Silo Hotel in the Waterfront, whilst waiting for my car for three hours, having the most wonderful catch-up chat with Edward Morton, the newish Ambassador of the Royal Portfolio; for chatting to Silo Hotel Chef Veronica Hibbert; and catching up; for Brian Van Hansen coming to say hello and collecting his ID book which I discovered in my car yesterday when I took everything out for the car service; for my car being finished punctually at 12h00; for a shoot at Utopia for a new weekend afternoon Tapas Menu; for surviving what happened this afternoon x 2; for a lovely refreshing evening walk towards the Tidal Pool, with beautiful clouds and sunset; for a call from Rebecca Bourhill, wanting to do an interview with me for the SA Chefās Association magazine; for speaking to caring Emma; for organizing the visit of my Alex arriving from London next Friday ā¤ļø; for not limping today and having no hip ache; and for being happy again, healthy, and free. šš

I was super delighted by the Audi service of my car, and completed at the promised time, but couldnāt open my roof initially because of something that was changed in my car boot by the car cleaners, my KFm station was changed and the cubby box between the front seats was not cleaned. On my way home, through terrible one hour traffic on Kloofnek Road from Town, I saw a red warning light go on. I called Audi immediately when I arrived at home. The assistant who had been so efficient in every respect did not know what it meant. She promised to send Audi Assist, first to my home and then outside Utopia Cape Town, where I had to photograph a new Menu this afternoon. The diagnosis: the Coolant pipe was broken, was leaking Coolant, and my car was not safe to drive ā¼ļø. I exploded. I had to be upstairs at Utopia, but now had to wait for a tow truck to take my car to Century City and wait for a replacement car, on condition I signed four pagesā¦. š”š”š”š”. I had to have a driving lesson with the Audi, very different to mine, which has a key but is not inserted anywhere at all. They struggled to find Kfm for me, and now I cannot find a volume button for it. A very nice Dylan at Audi promised me that he would look after my baby, and that I would not have to pay a cent, a huge relief. š Hennie Kriel was the amazing Service Manager there in the past, and nothing like this would have happened had he still been at Audi. š
When I was at home for the hour this afternoon I heard a noisy racket outside our building and saw three Security Guards escorting a fancy pants Porsche into our building. The new client is a VIP Iāve been told, staying directly above me in Magali Seguillonās EbbTide apartment 202, with a car registration number 911 KING GP. Would love any detectives to investigate for me please. There are 4 Bodyguards outside our building,, standing on the opposite side of the Road. I was petrified this afternoon š”š”š”š”š”š”š”š”š”
Tonight I deserved a drinkā¦. almost in tears. š¹
