Monday 11 October 2021, Day 11 of Level of 1 😷
Corona Gratitude 🙏
#grateful for a quiet day, writing and admin-ing all day, with two Bakoven walks at the beginning and end of the day, to avoid the heat of the 27 C day; for no Loadshedding today; for meeting the lovely Ute Hermanus, who has a Good Hope FM slot on Tuesday evenings called ‘Cape Town After Dark’, coming to eat at Utopia with her friend Kaylin Willscott, an intern in the wine department of Spier, welcoming and chatting with them for far longer than planned, having such a good time; for a family celebrating a round number birthday at Utopia, which I had met for another birthday celebration at Zest on Saturday; for a cosmopolitan feel at Utopia this evening, hearing American and UK English spoken, and the German Consul-General in the house too, fully booked on a Monday night 🙏; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙
My Blogpost today was about Pick n Pay selling mushrooms in pink punnets in aid of funding silicone prostheses for Breast Cancer survivors. Two punnets cost R35. Until the end of October. Please support this worthy cause.
Mushroom growers support Breast Cancer survivors, with Pick n Pay!
I felt a reincarnation of myself in Ute this evening, a go-getter and achiever, self-confident, aspiring to become a radio presenter on Kfm. She couldn’t believe that we both stayed in the same residence Minerva at the University of Stellenbosch 40 years apart! She will speak about her Utopia dining experience at 21h40 on Good Hood FM tomorrow. 🙏🙏🙏
If you’d like to meet Councillor Nicola Jowell – Ward 54, you can do so at Zest between 9h00 – 11h00 tomorrow morning.

I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
