Monday 14 March 2022, Day 165 of Level 1 😷

Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for another lovely day in Plettenberg Bay, starting with rain and slowly clearing at midday; for a generous Grand breakfast, offered granola, fruit and yoghurt, as well as a cooked breakfast from the Old Town Italy menu dated 2020, I choosing a Tony Soprano, with poached eggs, Béchamel sauce, and bacon, the terrace fire lit for us as it was chilly most of the day; for Sonja joining me for a walk up and then down the Main Road, popping into shops, but resisting all temptations; for a call from Adele, who recognized my car standing outside The Grand, finding us on our walk, able to catch up quickly; for also bumping into German guests we met at Botlierskop; for a trip out to Bramon Vineyards, Sonja and Mark enjoying a glass of Bramon wine sitting at a table in the vineyard, it not getting better than this; for a two hour game drive at the lovely flat 2500 ha Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve, seeing Water Buck, springboks, fallow deer, ostriches, eland, giraffe, rhino, crocodiles, hippos, a lion, gnu, zebras, and more; for a lovely last dinner at Nguni Restaurant, still going after 15 years; for a MasterChef contestant and its content producer dining at Zest this evening 💙; and for being happy, healthy and free. 🙏💙

My Blogpost today was a summary of MasterChef SA Season 4 Week 2.

MasterChef SA Season 4 Week 2: things heat up in the kitchen, more contestants have to go!

The Grand in Plett is now shared with Old Town Italy, causing major brand confusion. 😱

SA Corona Status: not yet available

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July,  returned to Level 3 on 26 July, returned to Level 2 on 13 September, returned to Level 1 on 1 October,  and the Curfew Curfew lifted on 30 December 2021 is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
