Thursday 14 January 2021, Day 18 of Level 3 Adjusted, Day 295 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another warm day, at 27C, and no wind, with rain forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning, fog rolling in now; for surviving the day with very little sleep; for getting my work done this morning, and still having enough time to go for a Camps Bay walk, it being very quiet, and The 41 being the first restaurant closing in Camps Bay, until 15 February; for collecting poppy seed rolls at Dinkel Bakery, which Cain kindly kept for me; for the best service ever at the Civic Centre to get my new car registration disc, I being the only person there, it taking no more than 5 minutes 💙; for a good client Status meeting; for popping in at Pilcrow & Cleaver, buying a wild mushroom Ragu dish to take home and some items from Fideli’s, bumping into Katie & Jonny Friedman there; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

It was a restless night, Minsky hissing at Mr Grey, and he sleeping closely to my pillow. I had three and a half hours of sleep only, annoyed about something I couldn’t let go of until this morning. I was silly to watch history in the making with the second Impeachment broadcast, being so late in SA time.

Mr Grey is happy, running up and down the apartment, and climbs up my dress as if I am a climbing wall. He loves the smell of my food, and I won’t be able to eat at my desk anymore. This morning he fell asleep on my desk, while I was busy writing. I think Minsky is slightly less upset already. 😻😻

Town is as quiet as it was in our Level 5 when we first went into Lockdown. I wanted something to eat at Woolies near the Christiaan Barnard Netcare hospital. Almost everything freshly made was sold out by 2 pm, and their juice fridge had warm juices as the fridge was broken. Other fridges had more than enough space in being almost empty, but no one thought of putting the juices there. 🥵 I was so thirsty that I popped in at Villa 47 for an ice cold orange juice.

It took longer to walk halfway around the Civic Centre building to what to me is the back entrance, the only way in, for the Covid procedure, than it did to get my license disk. 👏

My afternoon activities in town covered the Loadshedding time in Camps Bay perfectly, Town not affected by it anywhere where I drove.

Definitely off to bed early tonight.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, and extended to 15 February on 11 January, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
