Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for a hot 30C day, with just a breeze now; for a strenuous Camps Bay walk with Imtiaz, cleaning half of Camps Bay Drive, from Houghton Road to Ingleside Road, gaining 300 Discovery points; for Johnny Nortje driving with me to fetch the kitten Mr Grey (of 50 Shades of….,) in Plumstead, stopping for a half an hour lunch at Botanicum in Constantia; for Mr Grey being at home immediately, exploring, sitting on my lap at my desk, and sleeping next to me; for receiving 560 points in two Discovery Gameboard plays; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
My Blogpost today was about a very popular German ZDF TV ‘Das Traumschiff’ series’ episode ‘Kapstadt’, which was aired about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately it does not paint our city in a very good light, although it does show our beautiful spots.
German ZDF TV ‘Das Traumschiff’ episode ‘Kapstadt’ is good and bad PR for Cape Town!
Imtiaz and I had a meeting this morning, and we had a good pace walking and cleaning uphill on Camps Bay Drive.
I was running slightly late when Johnny came to my place, as my date with Rescue is Life, the cat adoption agency, was at 13h00. We had time for a half an hour lunch, and were disappointed that La Parada Constantia Nek was completely closed. So we spontaneously went to Botanicum at High Constantia. We told the waitress about our time constraint, and she was excellent in making it happen. Johnny had Seared Yellowfin Tuna, and I had Salt & Pepper squid, as well as an Affogato. I also had enough time to complete some writing with the use of their WiFi.
I was a bit shocked when we arrived at the address of the cat adoption agency, looking like a private house. Mr Grey was put inside the carrier which I had borrowed, and placed on Johnny’s lap, Mr Grey being so well behaved and not crying. We went straight home, and introduced him to his new home. Minsky is unhappy, hissing, and it will take some time for them to bond. Johnny put butter under the paws of Mr Grey, and he walked around the apartment, investigating. He has eaten his kitten pellets, drunk some water, has used the litter box, and can jump up to and down from my bed. He seems to feel totally at home.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December, and extended to 15 February on 11 January, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
