Monday 6 July 2020, Day 36 of Level 3, after 66 days at Levels 5 and 4 😷
Corona Gratitude 😷
#Grateful for another beautiful day of mixed seasons, fog this morning, sunny this afternoon, and grey and overcast now; for no toothache all day, going to see my dentist on Wednesday to make sure all is in order; for Henry’s surprise at how our vegetable garden progressed with Joel’s work this weekend, we finishing it off tomorrow before the big winter storm hits us from Thursday; for being surprised at how lovely Cape Town is in winter, I having run overseas for the past four years to avoid it; for two Camps Bay walks today, bumping into Craig and Howard, my walking friends, on my second walk; for a productive work day; for a lovely sunset; for the fun I had in opening an Instagram account for @MinskyMaus 🐱, please do follow her, she would be so grateful 😻; for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
I went to sleep after midnight, to finish writing the submission for a court matter, demanding that alcohol be allowed to be served with restaurant meals, and that the distance between persons sharing a table be reduced from the 1,5 meter regulation. My conclusion is that the Restaurant industry has been most discriminated against compared to any other, with the number of regulation changes it has had to endure in the past 100 days.
I updated posts on my Lockdown Facebook Group page for the rest of the day. I received four bottles of Ultra Lime from Gary Knoetze today, a preservative-free lime juice for cocktails, cooking, and more. #Thankyou.
I walked part of the way with Craig, my walking friend, and he told me that he works for a company designing spectacles for customers in African countries, their nose shape differing to ours locally. They are manufactured in China, so he travels between Africa, China, and Italy regularly, that was before Lockdown. Before Lockdown he never spent more than 5 weeks consecutively at home in Camps Bay. Such a lovely chap.

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
