Tuesday 5 May 2020, Day 5 of Level 4 Lockdown after 35 days at Level 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a lovely warm sunny day; for getting so used to our Exercise Time, that 14C at 7h30 feels warm enough for a sleeveless exercise top, and for being so energized and warm when I return home that I can sit down and work immediately; for bumping into Haakon and Thomas again, and walking with them on my way back home, a lovely (unplanned) way to meet up with friends; to stumble across the Surfer Protest at Glen Beach, without knowing initially what it was all about, until I read that it happened at a number of beaches, with police action in Sea Point and Muizenberg but none here; with litter along the way to pick up, still balking at removing the dog poo along the way; for the lovely pics I can take at this early start to the day; for my fabulous friend Llewellyn Lambert who helped to reduce the content of my Blog as it was exceeding the capacity of my web host, and fixing a few other Blog design issues – such a good friend that he has all my passwords, and it is he who umhacked my Social Media Accounts almost a year ago; 🍎🍎🍎🍎 for Auto & General repaying the R690 for 5 years of taking money for an unrequested policy covering me against getting HIV in the case of a car accident 😱; for a lovely chat with Nicolette Waterford about our Lockdown experiences; for meeting a lovely couple walking past my home, both having worked at The Village Idiot, and Luke having worked with my nephew Nick Solomon at North Island in the Seychelles, what a small world ; for getting 200 points by fluke from Discovery today; for dancing to Kfm this afternoon 💃; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙

This morning I wrote a good-news story about the local music industry, and how much airtime it is getting on local tadio stations now, Kfm in particular, a campaign created by Martin Myers at the beginning of Lockdown.

South African Music industry flourishes during Corona Virus Lockdown, makes history on Kfm!

I spent the rest of the day adding more restaurants to the Restaurant Food Delivery Facebook Group list, very happy to see that Janse & Co will offer Food Delivery from tomorrow, with some delectable dishes. And I’ve ordered a Mother’s Day spoil from Sergio and LeeAndra for Sunday. ❤️

I had to laugh when I received an email from Auto & General, my ex-insurance Company as if 1 May, offering me R5000 if I refer it to my friends and family…… what a joke..😂

So sad to hear the Lockdown Sad news stories staring to roll in: Caxton publishers closing all its magazine titles (the second SA publisher to do so in a week), and Comair (including Kalula) going into liquidation.

SA Corona Status : 7572 cases 148 deaths 😷😥

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, and lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
