Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 5 of Level 4, 5 May 2020.

Tuesday 5 May 2020, Day 5 of Level 4 Lockdown after 35 days at Level 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a lovely warm sunny day; for getting so used to our Exercise Time, that 14C at 7h30 feels warm enough for a sleeveless exercise top, and for being so energized and warm when I return home that I can sit down and work immediately; for bumping into Haakon and Thomas again, and walking with them on my way back home, a lovely (unplanned) way to meet up with friends; to stumble across the Surfer Protest at Glen Beach, without knowing initially what it was all about, until I read that it happened at a number of beaches, with police action in Sea Point and Muizenberg but none here; with litter along the way to pick up, still balking at removing the dog poo along the way; for the lovely pics I can take at this early start to the day; for my fabulous friend Llewellyn Lambert who helped to reduce the content of my Blog as it was exceeding the capacity of my web host, and fixing a few other Blog design issues – such a good friend that he has all my passwords, and it is he who umhacked my Social Media Accounts almost a year ago; 🍎🍎🍎🍎 for Auto & General Continue reading →

Sweet and Sour Service Award goes to Auto & General!

The Sweet Service Award goes to Auto & General, and its Call Centre staff member Nomsa, for the ease with which I was able to cancel my insurance policies with the company. She did try to entice me to stay with the company, by offering me a reduced premium, but I had already switched to Discovery Insure, with a premium half of that of A & G. Continue reading →

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 1 of Level 4, 1 May 2020.

Friday 1 May 2020, Day 1 of Lockdown Level 4, after 35 days at Level 5 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a spectacular day all round, with a misty start, and turning out warm; for feeling on top of the world, my best day since the start of Lockdown ❤️; for such a wonderful exercise morning, fresh air, lovely sea smell as I left the house, and smelling coffee on the walk, loving the energy of everyone around me, walking, running, and cycling, feeling really good after 8000 steps at a time of day which was a first one for walking for me; for picking up litter along the way; for meeting friends along the way, including Ashleigh Fleming and her brood, Thomas Bauerkämper and Haakon, Justin Paul Jansen, Andrew Cairns, and seeing the staff of Maison J, a happy reunion again, what a surprise to see them open, which I celebrated with an orange juice and a croissant 🥐❤️; for a long chat with Jenny Stephens; for an inspiring video by ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ author Elizabeth Gilbert about running away from oneself, I recognizing myself in her wise words (video posted on my page)❤️; for a shopping walk this afternoon, definitely much calmer than this morning; for the delivery of my dinner by Essentials by Ryan Cole, to celebrate more of this special day, being the first day of Level 4, May Day, Exercise Day, and first Home Food Delivery Day; for getting a cash back of over R400 from Discovery Vitality for my healthy food purchases at Woolies; for a promise of a refund from Auto & General for a hidden charge taken by them, called Expo-sure, for the past 5 years 🥵, and for being happy and healthy on a day that felt liked Christmas. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Virus: Lockdown Journey Journal, Day 33, 28 April 2020.

Tuesday 28 April 2020, Day 44 of SA Corona Virus, Day 33 of SA Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a perfect day, at 24C, so much so that my feet were itching to do a shopping walk, and for my German discipline to stay strong, and wait until tomorrow, when I fetch my new cotton masks; for the wonderful interest in the new Facebook page of Take-Away Food Deliveries, with at least 50 restaurants listed already, and nearing 1000 members, eagerly awaiting their first restaurant order delivery on Friday, I having ordered mine too; for a number of calls today; for successfully divorcing Auto & General today, after a small complication with a broker was easily overcome; for reducing the content of my fridge, after an over-ambitious shop at the start of Lockdown, always being grateful for ordering items from Woolies in Camps Bay, when they are out of stock; for the lovely eye candy walking past my place, one in particular with a greet and a chat across the street … ❤️; for dancing 💃 to Kfm throughout the day, and more to come tonight; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
