Corona Gratitude đ
#Grateful for a much cooler day, especially this afternoon, and for the rain to come overnight and tomorrow morning âď¸; for writing a good Blogpost this morning; for a walk to Cliftonâs 4th Beach, energizing due to the cooler temperature; for receiving a second portfolio on the Camps Bay & Clifton Ratepayers Association Management Committee, at the AGM held at The Rotunda this evening; for being praised by Councillor Nicola Jowell for my cleaning of Camps Bay at the AGM; and for being happy and healthy. đđ
My Blogpost today was about the Musgrave Copper Vanilla and Black Honey infused brandies tasting I attended last week. A big trend: Don Pedros are back.
There was lots of litter to pick up today, especially between Glen Beach and Clifton, from the weekend visitors. There is electrical construction work happening from 4th Beach onwards, which means that one cannot use the pavement on the seaside of the road.
There is an accident in Camps Bay almost every week, speed and alcohol being involved. Last night a car crashed into a parked car at Glen Beach, which caused that car to bash into the BMW parked in front of it, and which in turn hit the Porsche in front of it! This at Curfew start time! The perpetrator was arrested and is in police custody.
I had my moment with Camps Bay High School learners today, seeing about 30 in total walking in groups to the shops and waiting at bus stops when the school closed. Zero social distancing and only about 10% wearing a mask properly.
The Environment portfolio holder on the Ratepayerâs Association has resigned, so I will take over her portfolio in addition to Marketing. We had a good AGM, and I met a number of our residents. It feels good to serve the Camps Bay Community even more. Out of 9 members on the Association Committee three of us are called Chris…. đą

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, and lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
