Corona Gratitude 🙏
#Grateful for the rain we had overnight and this morning, the drizzle this afternoon, and more to fall tonight; not as cold at 13C max as I expected, especially when I went out to walk; for the City Council, requested by Councillor Nicola Jowell, repairing the stand of one of the Camps Bay Battery cannons dating back to 1782, located below the Camps Bay High School, all getting a make-over 👏; for seeing Law Enforcement on Victoria Road, after months of no visibility, reporting a traffic problem at Caprice; for a very good shopping experience at Pick n Pay; for a late lie-in this morning with KitKat, huddling in bed together; for a very laid-back day today; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙
It is incredibly quiet in our building, maybe because I’m the only person here this weekend. The noisiest element here is the lift, the shaft being close to most of our bedrooms. Most of the other renters now walk the stairs, as do I, a blessing. 🙏
I wanted to see how far the repairs to the cannons were, having seen workmen there recently, and other than leaving some rubble there and the plaque not having been replaced, it is looking really good. A proud asset of Camps Bay, and one of my stops on my Camps Bay Historical Tourist Guide Walk. 😊
There was a disturbing Whats App Message sent by a local resident about what she had observed at Caprice, when I had sent the Law Enforcement Officer there for the parking problem coincidentally too. This is what she wrote:
‘Hugely concerned: This is what I am observing – Caprice is Lockeddown by a posse of heavies (body guard types) all in black some with hoodies & masks or balaclavas, 2 black suvs tinted windows illegally parked on the corner sides of caprice, no number plate on the one the other a X5 with CY plate. About 8 guarding the outside, a pair roaming the street, and others in the cars with go betweeens coming in and out. As a resident, I strongly condemn caprice for hosting whatever meeting is gong down inside. It puts the staff as witnesses at risk. Meanwhile the car guards outside are smoking dope under a blanket and 2 servers from Mykonos smoking dope on the pavement outside this morning. WTF??’
I wrote a report for Councillor Nicola about what I’ve done and observed in Camps Bay and Bakoven this past week, and sent a summary to Camps Bay residents.
Getting the bottle of red ready for a glassful for President Cyril’s Speech at 20h00. At worst all remains the same, at best alcohol and/or cigarette regulations change. 🍷🍷🍷
We got a Lucky Packet for Christmas in August 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🍷🍷🍷🍷 And the heavens are celebrating too, with pouring rain. ☔️☔️☔️☔️

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, and lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime.
