Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a day that just got better and better, starting with a wake-up arrival back into the building at 2h00 this morning by Sacha Jack’s EbbTide 201 tenant Franklin, ready to start a party with his loud music, I luckily being able to fall sleep again; for glorious rain this morning; for a hard-working morning; for an hour long interview by brand new magazine IconicSA editor Isaac, for their inaugural October issue, focusing on my role as being an honest and controversial restaurant reviewer; for a walk to Camps Bay, it having cleared up; for Henry and I having a fantastic meeting with Vanessa Sillefant, our new Sandak-Lewin Portfolio Manager, liking her the minute we met, starting with tea and cake, and running through an agenda of items relating to our building, followed by a walk-through the building, ending with the discovery that she is a Sagittarian too, and laughing when we talked about the Trustees pressing each others’ ‘Bitch Switches’, having no clue about my SwitchBitch books; for my Bestie Llewellyn Lambert coming to visit, the first time in more than 2 years, bringing flowers and a wonderful ‘picnic’ from Woolies, sitting outside on the terrace, visited by a seagull; for Uncle Llewellyn spoiling the 😻😻 kids with 2 play mice, polony sticks, and dry liver treats 🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎🍎; for being gifted a bottle of wine by my Nigerian neighbour Alex, offering me his company and protection if I need it….. wow 😱, discovering that he is a forex dealer, complaining that the market is so down; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙

My Blogpost today was the uproar and anger caused for our Tourism industry by the UK Government not taking us off the Red List.

SA Tourism body fumes over UK’s refusal to remove SA from its Red List!

I’m optimistic about an improved relationship amongst the Trustees in our building and that rules relating to Noise, Parking etc will be enforced in future. In the two year ‘reign’ of our previous Portfolio Manager Greg Anderson never set foot in our building despite numerous requests!

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July,  returned to Level 3 on 26 July, and returned to Level 2 on 13 September,  is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
