Sunday 26 December 2021, Family Day, Day 87 of Level 1 😷
Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏
#grateful for a memorable day that will go into the history books, being the passing of The Arch Desmond Tutu, hearing about it on Kfm, I usually never listening to it on a Sunday, but loving the musical tribute Kfm put together so quickly, getting goosebumps when they played the National Anthem, with tributes by its listeners broadcast ❤️🥲👏; for a busy working morning, posting about my clients’ Christmas meals of yesterday, and replying to the many reviews for those restaurants that were open yesterday; for a Bakoven walk; for Gift coming for a 5 hour litter clean, starting in Bakoven, and meeting me and a team of volunteer cleaners to pick up litter around the Tidal Pool at 18h00, where thousands picnicked today, despite a cool and misty start to the day, our biggest number of bags filled on a Cleaning Day in three years 👏👏👏👏👏; for having the second half of my Utopia turkey Christmas dinner…… mmmmm; and for being happy, healthy and free. 🙏💙
A HUGE thank you to all our volunteers who cleaned up this afternoon, a team of 10, including the I know a Guy Recycling team, Niels, Shelley van Acker, as well as Gift, and Philemon, who read about our Clean up today on FaceBook. In just over an hour we filled close to 50 blue garbage bags. Yet where we cleaned the area was quickly filled with new litter, and few of the picnickers left to go home at 19h30. We plan to start later next weekend. I know a Guy recycling is taking the bags with them, to sort by colour and type of litter, and after it having been compressed it will be sent to Switzerland, from which garden furniture will be made. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 So happy to have Chris Willemse, Vice Chair of our Ratepayers Association, come by. 🙏 Thank you to the City of Cape Town Ricardo’s Morning Team for picking up the rest of the Litter tomorrow. 🙏
I posted a tribute to The Arch on my Blog:.

I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
