Saturday 1 January 2022, Day 93 of Level 1 😷

Corona Lockdown Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a very slow and relaxed day, staying home and catching up on sleep most of the day, Instagramming until 4h00; for lovely rain this morning, which reduced the number of people coming to Camps Bay today, at only 20C when the sun came out, but the litter is everywhere, picking up where I could 😡; for visible presence from Traffic Enforcement, Law Enforcement and Metro Police in Camps Bay 🙏; for posting New Year’s posts for my clients, being able to take tomorrow off as a result; for a walk to Camps Bay, having a lovely Gibson’s ice cream 🍦; for having a long chat to Jenny on the phone; for my blood sugar being 6,2 despite the liquid refreshments of last night 😱; and for being happy, healthy, and free. 🙏💙

I’ve seen on TikTok that the Waterfront was swamped with New Years revellers, severely disappointed that there were no fireworks and just a boring beam of light; and that it took them an hour to get out of the underground parking. How lucky we were to be at the home of Tommie and Nicholas Fjord, seeing the Beam and a short burst of late fireworks close by in Green Point. I’m posting a group pic from our New Years dinner last night, as I only saw it after l had posted mine early this morning. #tack

It’s back to zero on Discovery points, not having made Diamond, having done so in the past two years. 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲

Very early to bed tonight 😴

The Corona Virus Lockdown (Level 5), announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier to commence on 27 March 2020 and to continue until 16 April, subsequently extended to 30 April, lowered to Level 4 from 1 May, lowered to Level 3 from 1 June, lowered to Level 2 from 18 August, lowered to Level 1 from 21 September, and moved back to Adjusted Level 3 from 29 December,  extended to 15 February on 11 January 2021, extended but relaxed on 1 February, and relaxed back to Level 1 on 1 March 2021, moved back to Adjusted Level 2 on 31 May, moved back to level 3 on 16 June, and moved back to Adjusted Level 4 on 28 June, extended by two weeks on 11 July,  returned to Level 3 on 26 July, returned to Level 2 on 13 September, returned to Level 1 on 1 October,  and the Curfew Curfew lifted on 30 December 2021 is an unprecedented event in my lifetime. I am posting my daily Facebook post to journal this Corona Lockdown Journey, perhaps to serve as material for a future Book.
