Saturday 28 March 2020, Day 13 of SA Corona, Day 2 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for another beautiful day, without any wind; to have Woolies and Pick n Pay so close by and (almost) fully stocked, and (almost) empty; to reach my step goal from dancing and walking; for the lovely music on Kfm again; for seeing security company and Law Enforcement vehicles patrolling; for the arrest yesterday of two men at the top of Camps Bay; for my inner calm and peace, after two weeks of Angst and stress. 🙏💙

I slept late, waking up to such a lovely day. I created a Blogpost of yesterday’s Facebook post, with some Corona stats added, which I’ll do here from today too.

I picked up litter on my way to Woolworths, taking a back road to extend my walking distance, walking past green bins, most overflowing with litter, the Council cleaners not having been seen in the last two days (they are an Essential Service). I walked past two Homeless persons, enjoying the sunshine, not seeming to understand what is going on. I walked past two Pick n Pay staff sitting right next to each other, in the sun, having a break on the lawns. I called the manager, and he told me the Staff Canteen is too small for them to sit the right distance apart! He was shocked to hear that they are not practising Social Distancing! 

The three grocery shops operating in Camps Bay have reduced their trading hours:

Woolworths 9h00 – 17h00

Pick n Pay 8h00 – 18h00 (Monday – Saturday) 9h00 – 17h00 (Sunday) 7h00 – 8h00 (Wednesdays for 65+ year old persons)

Continental Deli 8h00 – 18h00

I popped in at the police station, about the Argentinian couple next to me, who do not appear to be in quarantine here, stuck here without a flight to return. From what I’ve seen they are only allowed to be in a hotel or a guest house, not in an apartment. They were driving around on the two days prior to Lockdown, not in quarantine. Last night I called the Corona Hotline, which referred me to 10111, promising to call Camps Bay police, but nothing happened. The officer at the desk wasn’t sure what to do, so he referred me to a detective. He promised to come and talk to them, and he did two hours later. I’ve not heard anything further. They have been exceptionally quiet today, after their noisy evening last night.🥵

What is it with men and drones? This afternoon a local walked past, flying his drone while he walked. I asked him if he knew he can only walk when shopping, so he told me that he cannot catch the virus from the drone or the street! 🥵🥵🥵 I saw a message on Buzzer that some people were swimming in the Camps Bay Tidal Pool this afternoon! 🥵🥵🥵

I had a sore throat last night, so took my temperature, needing to study the instructions on how to use this modern instrument……😱 But all good at 36,8C. I took Medlemon and honey last night, and feel perfect today.

So grateful that the flood of videos and supposedly funny stories sent on What’s App has reduced so much. I’m constantly deleting them. 💙

The Corona Virus Lockdown, announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa earlier this week to commence on 27 March and to continue until 16 April, is an unprecedented event in my lifetime.
