Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a fabulous hot sunny day, at 29 C; for being able to walk to the shops, seeing the Egyptian Geese babies having a swim in the stream at the Tidal Pool, loving not being disturbed by picnickers, I’m sure; for completing the paperwork for Discovery Insure for my car, my saving being R1300 per month from May, the most patient I have ever been with a Call Centre call, taking over an hour; for good service again from Woolies, having found maize kernels for essential popcorn 🍿 for me; for the Vit D intake on the terrace this afternoon; for long calls with Jenny Stephens and Stuart Bailey; for a visit by KitKat aka Charlie 🐱; for dancing to Kfm 💃; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

#Grateful for another beautiful day, without any wind; to have Woolies and Pick n Pay so close by and (almost) fully stocked, and (almost) empty; to reach my step goal from dancing and walking; for the lovely music on Kfm again; for seeing security company and Law Enforcement vehicles patrolling; for the arrest yesterday of two men at the top of Camps Bay; for my inner calm and peace, after two weeks of Angst and stress. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Camps Bay undergoes major road upgrade, short-term irritation, long-term benefit for Capetonians!

With minimal notice to the residents and businesses of Camps Bay, using nothing more than media statements, the City of Cape Town announced the closure of a large part of Camps Bay Drive, due to R20 million roadworks undertaken between the Geneva Drive and Houghton Road turn-offs for the next five months, which commenced a week ago. Speaking to a selection of businesses, the Victoria Road restaurants have felt little or no impact of the roadworks on their business, while guest houses in the suburb appear to be taking some strain. The long-term benefit for not only Camps Bay, but for Cape Town in general, is recognised.
