The Sweet Service Award goes to Mynt Cafe in Camps Bay, a belated recognition for a wonderful afternoon of music provided by The Kiffness, courtesy of Kfm, which provided an opportunity to meet DJ Rob Vember, and to see Jessica da Silva up close – I had met Jeremy Harris previously, the third member of the Drive Show team.
The Sour Service Award goes to Audi, and its Call Centre, for alarming Audi drivers, sending every Audi owner a text message, announcing to Audi A4, A5, and A6 drivers of model years 2012 -2014 a recall campaign, which requires cars to be inspected. One was invited to book the car for an inspection. I called to make sure that my car was excluded, and the Call Centre assistant Nolene could not explain why A3 owners of different model years were also contacted about the recall. She insisted on calling me ‘Mrs’, despite being told that I am not married, and that she should call me by my first name! It was a most unprofessional interaction with Audi and its Call Centre, not given owners much confidence in the car brand.
