Yesterday Leeu Collection announced that it has acquired a new property, its first in London. The current office block 55 Newman Street is to be turned into an 100-bedroom luxury hotel, planned to open its doors in 2019.
The prospective hotel building is located in fashionable Fitzrovia, in the London West End.
‘The purchase of a London property is a very exciting development for Leeu Collection, as it marks the first acquisition for the group in a major city, but it will certainly not be the last. Leeu Collection continues to seek hotel opportunities in key locations around the world that reflect the Leeu ethos of creating unrivalled escapes for discerning guests’, says Carrie Wicks, Leeu Collection CEO.
Leeu Collection’s first international acquisition was Linthwaite House, a country retreat overlooking Lake Windermere in the Lake District In the U.K., with 30 bedrooms.
The second and more recent acquisition was Leeu Villa Querce in Florence, Italy, which is set to become a 70-plus room luxury hotel and gardens, and is planned to open in 2021.
Leeu Collection expands its accommodation portfolio to include Florence!
Mr Analjit Singh, founder of the Leeu Collection, fell in love with Franschhoek when he drove to the village for a meal, whilst staying in Cape Town during the FIFA World Cup in 2010. A property that was earmarked to become a private home, became what is now Leeu Estates. The first Leeu Collection accommodation establishment opened in 2014.
Franschhoek to benefit from Leeu Indian hospitality investments!
In our country, Leeu Collection has focused its accommodation assets on Franschhoek, with three five-star accommodation establishments: Leeu Estates, a 17-room country house retreat and boutique winery; Leeu House, a 12-room hotel; and Le Quartier Français, a 21-room hotel and its three-bedroom LQF Villa.
