Steenberg is to launch a new ‘exclusive special occasion’ Lady R MCC under mystery conditions!
What has been revealed is the name of the new MCC, Lady R, in honour of Catharina Ras, the feisty founder of the Steenberg farm. It is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It has been left on the lees for five years, one year for each of Catharina Ras’ husbands! Only 250 cases have been produced. It is described as a ‘fine mousse’, with an aroma of strawberries and freshly-baked bread! The cellar-door price is R395. It will be launched in Johannesburg on 21 October and nationally on 22 October.
