The Sweet Service Award goes to Camps Bay Hardware and its owner Jared Stein, who organised and delivered to my home a tap I needed for the water supply to my pool within one hour of enquiring about it, an item he had to collect from elsewhere. His service is community-driven, and always fantastic.
The Sour Service Award goes to Nigerian renters of houses and apartments in Camps Bay, who have made the lives of many neighbours and fellow apartment dwellers in the suburb hell through their lack of consideration of others by hosting parties with music blaring, usually starting after midnight, and who come and go at all hours of the day and night, not heeding our Curfew regulations! They are a security risk to other residents in the buildings which they rent, with goodness knows which illegal activities happen behind their doors. They drive the fanciest cars, at speed, and regularly are involved in accidents, being under the influence of substances. They trash Accommodation which they rent, the local police station having more such cases than for any other crime! And sadly the greedy owners of these apartments such as EbbTide just cash in on the bucks, having no consideration of Noise Disturbance Rules being broken, or any other inconveniences caused by these renters to fellow owners!
The WhaleTales Sweet & Sour Service Awards are presented every Friday on the WhaleTales blog.
