*   SA Tourism has announced that from the 2015/2016 financial year it will read arrivals to our country as ‘Tourist Arrivals’ only, and not as all ‘foreign arrivals’.  In the past arrival statistics have been criticised for being inflated and inaccurate.  This means that the new tourism arrival figures will be lower than those read currently.

*   Uber has been temporarily banned from operating in Germany, by a court in Frankfurt, for not meeting that country’s Passenger Transportation Act.  Uber has vowed to continue operating in Germany, the taxi association having taking it to court.

*   Woolworths is feeling the effect of the boycott against the retailer by Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against Israel in South Africa (BDS SA), reports The New Age, especially in food and clothing sales, as well as in its share price.  The pro-Palestine boycott group is protesting that Woolworths is importing tomatoes from Israel.  Woolworths has declared that its imports from Israel represent only 0.1% or R12 million in value.

*   A breathtaking advertisement has been filmed in downtown Cape Town for BMW M235i, with some stunning stunts!

*  The New Italian Design, a travelling exhibition of 288 projects by 133 Italian designers, will come to Cape Town as part of the city hosting World Design Capital 2014.  The contemporary design event will run from 5-25 October 2014 at the Lookout in the V&A Waterfront.
