Sweet Service Award goes to Checkers Sixty60; Sour Service Award goes to EbbTide Apartment 101!

The Sweet Service Award goes to Checkers Sixty60, for its vastly improved delivery service. I used the company’s delivery service about a year ago, and I was so annoyed with various aspects of the service then, including taking more than the cost of the total of items ordered, not being true to its 60 minute delivery time promise, and for doing substitutions of different brands to the ones that I had ordered. Seeing a very special offer of three Whiskas cat food 2kg for the price of two, I had a look at the delivery  service again. I was impressed with the attractive and extensive offering on the website, the indication of which items are out of stock, making it easy to nominate substitute brands or to decline any substitution. The sixty minute delivery time is still overstated, as a late evening order led to a 10h00 – 11h00 delivery, and not 7h00 – 8h00, the first next available delivery slot. My order arrived in full, with no substitutions or out of stocks, the amount booked off my credit card was as per the order, and the driver helped me bring the five bags up to my apartment. Sweet Service Award goes to Computicket Camps Bay ; Sour Service Award goes to Discovery Insure!

The Sweet Service Award goes to Computicket at the Theater on the Bay, and its star staff member William. I was looking to buy one ticket for a Mozart Symphony Performance at the City Hall, receiving the bad news telephonically that there was only one last seat available right at the back of the Hall. When I arrived to pay for the ticket, William told me that he managed to find one ticket in the front row, remembering that it is my favourite row. It was a wonderful concert. Continue reading →

Sweet and Sour Service Awards goes to Discovery Insure!

The Sweet Service Award goes to Discovery Insure and its call centre agent Nomfundo for her professional dealing with my call earlier this week, for being honest in acknowledging that the company has a system problem in that one is not being rewarded for good driving or for zero driving on its App. She also organised that I receive four Discovery Gameboard plays for the month of May, which should have been available next week, but were made available on Wednesday this week already, a day after the call! Sweet Service Award goes to Clicks Cape Quarter; Sour Service Award goes to Discovery Insure!

The Sweet Service Award goes to the Clicks Cape Quarter pharmacy, for its excellent quick service. I had spent 90 minutes in a queue at the Clicks Hout Bay pharmacy a week ago for a script, but had chosen to not have an asthma pump. Discovering that my pumps had all expired, I went to the Cape Quarter Branch of Clicks, being nearby, and the pharmacist efficiently and quickly found my script online via my Discovery Clicks card. It took all of 10 minutes. Strangely my Apple Pay did not work in the pharmacy, which happened in Hout Bay too.  However, shopping elsewhere in the Cape Quarter, Apple Pay worked perfectly!
