Corona Gratitude 🙏

#grateful for a well organized smooth-flowing day, being away from home from 7h30 – 17h30, taking Earl Grey to be sterilized at the vet in Diepriver; for getting my day’s writing done at Knead at the Constantia Enporium, spoilt by Ollie with pots of tea and a hot cross bun, their Wifi working perfectly; for a fabulous shop at Checkers at the mall, with lovely efficient and friendly cashiers, compared to Sea Point, and good offers and discounts 😱; for an eating drive to Muizenberg, all three my visits disappointing; for a lovely tea and apple tart treat at the home of Rose Klein and Werner, also in Diepriver, from where I fetched Earl Grey, looking good and not having any wounds or bandages, happy to see each other again 😻; for a very quick walk to Camps Bay and back, such good cardio that I earned 300 Discovery points; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Discovery gets ready to assist in the mass vaccination of 37 million SA adults!

Discovery CEO Adrian Gore has sent an email letter to his clients, updating them on his company’s preparation for the speedy vaccination of its members. The good news is that his members have no need to take any action now, on a ….. don’t call us, we’ll call you ….. basis, so refreshing! Discovery members are to be notified when to register for the vaccinations.

Gore writes in an informal style, addressing me by my first name and signing off in his. No Mr/Ms/Mrs corporate nonsense!

Vaccinations for the 37 million adults in our country are to be available soon, although a date is not known. Discovery is developing its own ‘Mass Vaccination Programme’, aiming to vaccinate the 3 million Discovery Health Scheme members at the rate of 50000 persons per day. Discovery is working with other bodies to get its members vaccinated ahead of the current Government planned time estimate of October 2021 – February 2022, and could be as early as the end of April 2021. Vaccines are to be sourced from Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer-BioNTech.

Tuesday 16 March 2021, Day 16 of Level 1, Day 356 of Lockdown 😷

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for a sunny summery day, at 22C, with a blustery South Easter, especially now; for a productive writing morning; for meeting my new Out of the Blue client at her Willowbridge outlet, not having been there in years, loving how open she is to new ideas; for a quick shop at the big Woolworths there, sadly with poor service, there not being enough cashiers at both sets of till points; for the surprise of seeing a branch of my favorite ice cream shop The Dairy Den at Willowbridge, not being able to resist an ice cream; for a refreshing walk up my favorite Bakoven steps and lanes, counting 100 steps in three lanes in total, the uphill walk plus steps giving me 300 Discovery points, and allowing me to pull my mask down most of the way unless I walk past someone, which is seldom; for a Cash Back from Woolies today for my healthy shopping; for no Loadshedding for us today; and for being happy and healthy. 🙏💙 Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude 🙏

#Grateful for the rain that has fallen so far, and more to come tonight; for the ‘biblical storm’ not having arrived, it being more of an all-day drizzle; for a hardworking morning in preparation of a client status meeting; for a good client meeting, drinking tea and served wafer biscuits;, for popping in at the German butcher on Kloof Street, fetching figs at Peppertree Café in Kloof Street, at the German Grocer, at the party shop around the corner, and buying some soup Veg at Spar Cape Quarter; for a break in the rain allowing me to do a walk through Camps Bay; and for being happy and healthy.🙏💙 Continue reading →
