Corona Lockdown Gratitude ๐Ÿ™

#grateful for surviving a second challenging day, Nicholas Fjord and Gary Peterson and their whiskies coming to the rescue this evening ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฅƒ๐Ÿฅƒ; for a busy admin and catch up client day, not getting as far as I wanted to; for Gift coming to clean up, on Camps Bay Drive and off Geneva Drive; for Henry coming to assist me for an hour ๐Ÿ’™; for meeting the American client living next door to me at EbbTide apartment 101 belonging to Rhode Snyman, beside himself in anger at the Noise Disturbance caused by Sacha Jackโ€™s Nigerian client Alex in Ebbtide 201 at 5h30 this morning when Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude ๐Ÿ™

#Grateful for another fabulous day, with a later sleep-in than usual; for a 24 C day, the wind picking up in the afternoon as the rain clouds rolled in; for a lovely day in and out of Utopia, greeting clients who enquired via Social Media before making their bookings, for a fantastic buzz, the fullest that I have seen it since I started working with the restaurant three months ago, and with hordes of celebrations; for slipping out in between to put in petrol before the steep price increase on Tuesday; for dropping off my bedlinen at the laundry; for a lovely walk in Mouille Point at its Promenade, lovely so close to the ocean, catching its spray at times; for dancing while driving home in happiness; for a lovely sunset; for lovely dance music on Kfm and its Blokparty ; and for being happy and healthy. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™ Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude ๐Ÿ™

#Grateful for a close to perfect day; for waking up early, and starting to write immediately, given that Thursdays are always my busy day of the week; for having an hour available for a Camps Bay walk before my Cleaning Team arrived, gaining 300 Discovery points; for finding a bush on Camps Bay Drive with hidden litter, which I showed Carmen and Imtiaz; for getting all my writing work done by 13h00, when I had to get ready to leave for town; for Miss M and Mr G being far more tolerant of each other ๐Ÿ˜ป๐Ÿ˜ป; for striking a compromise deal about Henryโ€™s salary increase; for a good meeting to present the Communication proposal for Client 2; for a very good Status meeting with Utopia; for meeting Jenny Stephens in Mouille Point, going for a walk and tea at Lillies afterwards ; for bumping into Tania Harrison at Lillies, celebrating the birthday of her son; for returning to Utopia to photograph an engagement, the lucky lady crying, being so moved; for the fabulous feedback about my work from Utopia Owner/Chef Pavel, and via their coffee supplier Ciro who told a manager that Utopia is the talk of the town in Cape Town, after 2 1/2 months of working with them; for Cain at Dinkel Bakery keeping my two poppyseed rolls; and for being happy and healthy. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™ Continue reading →

Corona Gratitude ๐Ÿ™

#Grateful for a very long sleep; for a haircut at Isabella Page Morgan in her brand new salon above Seattle coffee shop in Sea Point; for a light breakfast at WCafe, shocked at how expensive their prices have become since they ropened during Lockdown (R50 for two-egg scrambled egg on toast); for popping in at Utopia, photographing more of their dishes, and trying their chicken liver parfait, too delicious; for a clean up at the Camps Bay Tidal Pool with my cleaning team, very busy with litter removal given the number of people picnicking there as the weather was so fantastic…. until the wind came up; for returning to Utopia to photograph and video an engagement, the fourth in four weeks; and for being healthy. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™ Continue reading →
